FORMAS DE APROPIACIÓN DEL EXCEDENTE, ACUMULACIÓN Y CRECIMIENTO
Abstract
The essay examines a problem that is central to classical political economy (Smith, Ricardo, Mill), Marx's Political Economy, and Cepal’s structuralism (Furtado, Pinto, Prebisch). This problem is disaggregated into three main questions: a) how the economic surplus is produced? b) whom appropriates it ?; c) how is it used?
Each of these dimensions interact with each other and generate a certain functioning of the economy and a specific style of development. The essay examines: a) the coexistence between traditional (pre-capitalist) agriculture and industrial capitalism; b) the coexistence between financial-speculative capital and industrial capital. We also study the determinants of the surplus product and the different modes of its use, phenomena closely associated with the type of social class and groups that appropriate the surplus.
