COLABORACIÓN Y COMPETENCIA: EXPERIENCIAS ORGANIZACIONALES EN AUSTRALASIA

Resumen

Las organizaciones han adoptado diversas formas y estrategias para competir en el mercado. El papel que desempeñó el gobierno como regulador de la economía fue defensivo al no participar de manera significativa como promotor de la política industrial. Sin embargo, recientemente, a partir del establecimiento de acuerdos comerciales entre naciones, las organizaciones adoptaron nuevas formas de relación económica basadas en la colaboración. Estas condiciones novedosas han sido favorecidas por una nueva actitud del Estado que se tradujo en su creciente participación como promotor del desarrollo industrial. Entre las distintas maneras de colaboración organizacional merecen atención las redes organizacionales (Porras, 2001) y los clusters (Porter, 1998).

En este documento se revisan los esfuerzos gubernamentales llevados a cabo en Australasia (Australia y Nueva Zelanda) para promover la formación de redes organizacionales y clusters. El objetivo es incentivar a discutir la importancia de tal experiencia en relación con el desarrollo industrial de México y su posible significado como fundamento de las políticas públicas en la materia.
